It's summer! Which means I am off from my full-time job as a para. I love this time not only because I am a fan of slow mornings. I love enjoying my cup of coffee early in the morning after I let my dogs outside. The house is quiet as everyone is asleep or at work. HEHE.

It also gives me so much more time to do what I really love: WRITE

I still haven't given up on my dream of becoming a full-time writer. Whne I started this indie author journey in December of 2022, I told myself, Five years. Give it all you have for five years, and if it's still showing no progress, well then, I guess I will have a decision to make.

That just goes to show how naive I was about this business. It's a marathon, not a sprint, for sure. Five years is just the tip of the iceberg in this writing world. So I've extended that to ten years. I know that seems daunting. It made my husband's eyes pop out of his head.

The reality is that this writing business is tough, and being an indie makes it even tougher. We have to market, edit, create graphics, book time online with Facebook groups, pray that someone on BookTok gets a hold of our book, and hope it grabs others' interest. IT leaves so little time to write especially for those that still have to work full time.

So many other indie artists who started out slow and are now big names...well, it didnt happen overnight. Sure, that's the few it did, but the majority was a slow uphill climb.

And though my 16th book has just been released, my name is still unknown, so here I am in the trenches still plugging along. I refuse to stand down. I know my stories are worth telling, and readers, once they discover them, love them.

It's just getting that exposure.

So please, if you have read one of my books and enjoyed it, never stop talking about it. Word of mouth is so POWERFUL!
