Praise
I cannot get enough of this author's work. The only downfall is if I start a book I CANNOT stop reading. Warning Andrea Huston's work is addicting
NEVER HAVE I. Well, where do I start? I cried about five times and almost stopped reading because I was so mad at one point. Completely fell in love with this story to the point I asked the author if there was a sequel FML
In The Alternate Husband, Andrea Huston crafts characters that draw readers in with their emotional depth and complexity. Adeline's love for Nick is palpable, radiating from the page whenever they interact. Robert's domineering control over Adeline is felt in the tension of their strained relationship. The confusion of Adeline and her friends, Chris and Danette, intrigues readers as they try to unravel the mysteries of Adeline's past and future. Lacie expertly layers the characters' relationships and motivations, allowing readers to connect deeply with their journey. Through evocative character writing, Huston immerses us in a compelling story of love, control, and the quest for truth.
The Alternate Husband
Literally a soulmate love story! I was not expecting this to be the page turner that it was! This was a romance like no other. Adeline is involved in a traumatic event that puts her in the hospital. She is in a coma and when she wakes up she is literally a different person…or is she. Who is she really and who does she want to be….and who does she want to be with. In one world there is Robert who is a lawyer, demanding and controlling. He is a questionable spouse for her but is he her destiny? Then there is Nick the chef who is also a fighter. He is loving, attentive and not sure how he fits in with everything. This is an extremely layered book with a sometimes emotional story and I was here for it. There was definitely a lot going on in this story and each layer added so much to the already detailed story. The side characters were just as important as the main characters and I was invested in every single one of them. This was a rollercoaster of a journey that I was not expecting but sooo happy I took. I really enjoyed this book and I look forward to reading more books by this author.
EVEN AFTER
This is a love story, an emotional love story that is soo worth reading. Amara was young when her life changed…and from there her life was always different. Amara was very loose with her affection for the opposite gender…and I’m being nice. She definitely wasn’t the good girl that daddy thought she was. Then she met cousins Jack and Oliver. One was better for her than the other…but one was her ultimate soulmate. This well layered read tells a story about falling in love with your person but doing the right thing. Being with the person who you belong with no matter how hard the outcome may be. Becoming a better person because of who you love. The characters in this book were well written with intense back stories and larger than life personalities. Characters that told a story about love, life and a journey worth taking. The chemistry between the characters was steamy and boy did I love the connection these characters shared. This is the second book I have read, written by this author and I truly love her writing style.
WOW WHAT DID I JUST READ!!! The After Queen by Andrea Hust was absolutely breathtaking! The way she caught my attention from the very chapter and kept it through the whole book was amazing!! The way she constructed the world and the characters to go together so wonderfully was wonderful! The FMC Princess Josephine AKA Josie was a fierce, independent, amazing woman. The way she found her witch powers early and managed to handle chaotic life at times was so inspiring. Reading this book i know it sounds silly but the emotions i felt brought the book to life. The book was wonderfully written, and i was just blown way. His is the first book i have read by her and trust and believe i will read whatever she has published and whatever she puts out in the future.
Intriguing is an understatement pulling you into the world of Josie (Josephine) right after only a few pages. Born with gift of foresight, fearing to speak of it, a birthright with secrets abound and a knowing of what lie’s ahead.
The tension at moments is gripping, and palpable you can feel the jolt with a longing (unrequited love) and new bonds (fated) as she forges along her journey.
Fighting all the hurdles internally and externally with chaos brewing all around, as the Queen she is meant to be. The stakes are high and so is her fated.
The world buildings magically immersive, with a seamless plot thick of twist and turns revolving around elements that are captivating, keeping you glued page after page.
What will be Queen Josephines fate?
